Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain, attrition, and combo strategy helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. The deck establishes an early defensive web through cheap lifegain triggers like Soul Warden and Authority of the Consuls while deploying taxing permanents such as Blind Obedience and Kambal, Consul of Allocation. Its commander functions as a massive card advantage engine, turning every point of gained life into card draw at parity. This flow rapidly cycles through the library to locate compact game-winning combinations, predominantly Exquisite Blood paired with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, Starscape Cleric, or Marauding Blight-Priest. Strong silence effects like Grand Abolisher and efficient free protection spells such as Flawless Maneuver shield combo attempts. With redundant drain outlets and powerful alternate win conditions like Bolas's Citadel and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, the deck consistently threatens an uninterruptible same-turn table kill on Turn 6.
