Deck overview

This Jund deck is built around Eddie Brock // Venom, Lethal Protector, leveraging an innovative high-mana-value cheat engine. The deck utilizes cards with high printed mana costs that feature alternative low casting costs—such as warp (Bygone Colossus, Perigee Beckoner), power-based cost reduction (Molten Monstrosity, Ghalta), and emerge (Herigast). On Turn 5, Eddie transforms into Venom and attacks immediately with haste. Sacrificing an 8- to 12-mana-value creature draws 8 to 12 cards and cheats massive permanents like Worldspine Wurm, Vaultborn Tyrant, or The Skullspore Nexus directly into play. The resulting massive card flow and board presence overwhelm opponents via heavy trample combat damage and aristocrat burn triggers (Stalking Vengeance, Ziatora) by Turn 7. The deck boasts exceptional card replenishment and strong backup engines (Sneak Attack, Greater Good), though it remains vulnerable to well-timed spot removal before attacks and lacks proactive stax pieces.
