Deck overview

This Gruul aggro deck relies on Tovolar, Dire Overlord to drive a fast, creature-heavy strategy. The deck curves out with low-cost Wolves and Werewolves on Turns 1 and 2, casting Tovolar on Turn 3 to immediately draw cards through combat damage. By Turn 4, Tovolar's upkeep trigger automatically forces night if you control three pack members, flipping your creatures into their high-power Nightbound sides. The deck uses lords, trample enablers, and damage doublers like Unnatural Growth and Beastmaster Ascension to overwhelm opposing life totals by Turn 7. It can also close games instantly using an infinite combat loop with Aggravated Assault and Druids' Repository. While vulnerable to mass exile wipes and lacking blue countermagic, the list maintains high resilience through explosive card draw, low-mana ramp, and protective spells like Heroic Intervention and Full Moon's Rise.
