Deck overview

This is a Simic Merfolk tribal deck commanded by Hakbal of the Surging Soul, built around the explore mechanic to simultaneously grow the board with +1/+1 counters and ramp out extra lands. The primary game plan is to deploy a wide swarm of evasive Merfolk (using islandwalk and unblockable threats), then use Hakbal's combat trigger to fuel repeated explores, draw into more Merfolk lords, and snowball into an overwhelming combat step. The deck lacks infinite combos and relies entirely on incremental value and synergy to win through commander damage or regular combat. Secondary win paths include token generation from Deeproot Waters and spell copies from Reflections of Littjara. The commander is both the value engine and a key attacker, but the tribal shell can function without him for a few turns.
