Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast leads an Abzan toughness-matters deck. The primary plan is to deploy high-toughness walls and mana dorks, use Felothar to let defenders attack and to sacrifice a creature to draw cards equal to its toughness, then win through either a pumped defender combat step or a life-loss combo. Secondary paths are Betor + Bloodletter + Tree of Perdition, and Approach of the Second Sun with Demonic Tutor. Baldin, Century Herdmaster acts as a hidden commander, duplicating Felothar's toughness-damage text and turning hand size into a global toughness pump. The commander is the engine and enabler, but the deck has enough backup toughness effects to function without her.
