Format: Commander

Commander: Wolverine, Best There Is

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Gruul Voltron built around Wolverine's damage-doubling and +1/+1 counter growth. The primary plan is to suit Wolverine, make him huge with Halana and Alena, Xenagos, and Level Up, then kill with one unblockable trample swing; damage doublers plus Kediss or Chandra's Ignition convert that hit into a table kill. Secondary lines use Pain for All and fight spells to make Wolverine's own damage noncombat reach. The counter backup package of Vigor, Unnatural Growth, and Zopandrel can win through creature combat if Wolverine is taxed. The commander is single-faced; there is no hidden commander. Xenagos and Halana are the most important enablers. The deck is resilient to creature removal but low on draw and stack interaction.
