Deck overview

This deck is a Bant midrange engine built around Kellan, the Kid, leveraging the plot mechanic from Outlaws of Thunder Junction. By paying plot costs early or stashing cards in exile, casting those spells for free on later turns triggers Kellan to cheat additional permanents onto the battlefield or ramp lands. This mana velocity enables explosive midgame turns, dropping beefy beaters such as Railway Brawler, Bonny Pall, Clearcutter, and swarms of tokens from Geralf, the Fleshwright. While the deck boasts immense board presence and high tempo when its engine is uninterrupted, it relies strictly on combat damage to eliminate opponents. The lack of infinite combos, free countermagic, or hard stax means it operates primarily at a synergistic casual-to-focused power band.
