Kaalia of the trash by silvereric21

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast leads a Mardu beatdown deck built to skip the mana curve entirely: attack with the 2/2 flyer and put an Angel, Demon, or Dragon into play tapped and attacking. The list supports that one explosive action with extra-combat effects - Aurelia, the Warleader, Scourge of the Throne, Bloodthirster, and Full Throttle - giving Kaalia additional attack phases and additional cheat triggers. With no true infinite combo, the primary path is overwhelming combat damage from evasive flyers, often with Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas converting entrances into direct damage. Maskwood Nexus is a crucial flex card, letting Kaalia cheat any creature and turning Winnowing one-sided. The deck is powerful when Kaalia survives, but much slower and more fragile when she doesn't.
