Deck overview

Alela, Cunning Conqueror leads a classic Dimir flash-tempo deck that operates almost entirely on opponents' turns. The deck resolves Alela on Turn 3 or 4, then holds up instant-speed interaction, cantrips, and flash creatures. Casting one spell on each opponent's turn triggers Alela to create an evasive army of 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue tokens while drawing cards through engines like Wavebreak Hippocamp and Nymris, Oona's Trickster. The Faerie swarm chips away at life totals and triggers Alela's goad ability, forcing opposing threats to attack each other instead of you. The deck converts this board into a win around Turn 6 to 8 using finishers like Shadow Puppeteers to turn tokens into 4/4 Dragons or resolving a prowled Notorious Throng for an extra turn. Supported by efficient counterspells and removal, the deck maintains continuous board control and card advantage.
