Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible, haste commander that produces Treasure tokens whenever he is dealt noncombat damage. Rather than relying solely on combat, the deck damages its own commander with high-power spells like Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, and Star of Extinction, creating 13 to 20+ Treasures in a single burst. These Treasures fuel game-ending drain effects such as Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Master, and Reckless Fireweaver, or enable instant-speed artifact and Dragon tutoring via Magda, Brazen Outlaw. Repeatable damage engines like Pestilence and Pyrohemia double as one-sided creature board wipes while continuously generating mana. Alternative win conditions include Hellkite Tyrant, Revel in Riches, and an infinite damage combo with Brash Taunter and Blazing Sunsteel.
