Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Toughness-Matters combat deck commanded by Felothar the Steadfast. The strategy deploys low-mana defender creatures with massive toughness values, such as Overgrown Battlement, Wall of Blossoms, and Indomitable Ancients. With Felothar the Steadfast on the battlefield, these defenders attack and assign combat damage equal to their toughness rather than their power, transforming cheap defensive walls into powerful attackers. Felothar also converts high-toughness creatures into massive card draw by sacrificing them to draw cards equal to toughness while discarding minimal cards due to their low power. The deck breaks parity on asymmetric board sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers, wiping opposing boards while keeping its low-power creatures alive. Victories are achieved through unblockable attacks with Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa or Behind the Scenes, explosive combat damage from Tower Defense, or overwhelming creature swarms.
