Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Midrange and Reanimator strategy commanded by Nethroi, Apex of Death. The core game plan focuses on early resource development, deploying non-Human utility creatures, and populating the graveyard through basic landcycling and light self-mill. Once reaching seven mana on Turn 6, the deck casts Nethroi for its mutate cost onto a low-cost creature, reanimating up to 10 total power of utility and beatdown creatures. The deck pairs this graveyard engine with an empower-planeswalker subtheme, generating loyalty on Jace tokens to maintain continuous card draw. Spot removal keeps problematic opposing threats in check, while creatures like Titanbones, Towering Heart and Massacre Girl, Most Wanted close out the game through repeated combat steps and life drain.
