Deck overview

This Simic deck is a high-tempo +1/+1 counter aggro build helmed by Ezuri, Claw of Progress. The strategy leverages a dense suite of one- and two-drop mana dorks and low-power creatures to accelerate early mana and rapidly generate experience counters once Ezuri enters. Because experience counters accumulate on the player rather than on permanents, the deck builds resilient, compounding pressure that persists through commander removal. Ezuri converts these counters into rapid lethal threats by stacking counters at the beginning of combat onto evasive attackers such as Blighted Agent, Champion of Lambholt, Cold-Eyed Selkie, or trample enablers. The list supplements this beatdown plan with counter amplifiers like Branching Evolution and Innkeeper's Talent, alongside explosive overrun finishes via Triumph of the Hordes and Overwhelming Stampede. A lean, efficient interaction suite—featuring flexible counters, target redirection, and instant-speed hexproof protection—safeguards key threats while soft locks from Opposition and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider disrupt opposing stabilization.
