Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Azorius Stax Control strategy commanded by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The primary game plan focuses on establishing early asymmetric mana taxes and spell limits to slow down opposing development while accelerating its own plays. By layering pieces such as Archon of Emeria, Rule of Law, Cursed Totem, and Hokori, Dust Drinker, the deck starves opponents of resources and restricts their casting speed. Once the table is constrained, it transitions into hard lock states using Knowledge Pool alongside Drannith Magistrate or Teferi, Time Raveler, or closes the game with Approach of the Second Sun and the Guile plus Dovescape infinite bird combo. Dense, efficient countermagic and uncounterable board sweepers protect the lock pieces and clean up opposing boards.
