Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lands-and-aristocrats midrange strategy commanded by Thalia and The Gitrog Monster. The primary game plan accelerates mana through early land ramp, then deploys the commander to slow down opponents by forcing their nonbasic lands and creatures to enter tapped. Once the commander is established, the deck pairs recurring land drops and sacrifice outlets with powerful token generators such as The Necrobloom, Titania, Protector of Argoth, Field of the Dead, and Rampaging Baloths. As permanents cycle between the battlefield and the graveyard, attrition pieces like Grave Pact and Savra, Queen of the Golgari strip opposing creatures, while drain effects from Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat burn out all three opponents.
