Deck overview

This Gruul Partners deck, helmed by Alena, Kessig Trapper and Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood, is a straightforward "big mana, big creatures" strategy that aims to ramp into enormous threats and overwhelm opponents with extra combat steps. The command zone provides a mana-generating engine: Gilanra offers green mana and conditional card draw on expensive spells, while Alena converts the power of creatures that entered that turn into red mana. The deck then deploys high-power, high-CMC creatures such as Savage Ventmaw, Dragonlord Atarka, and Ghalta, Primal Hunger, leveraging Doors of Durin and Selvala's Stampede to cheat them into play attacking. Extra combat enablers like Bloodthirster and Scourge of the Throne chain multiple attacks, using the mana from Alena and combat triggers to fuel further threats. With no counterspells and minimal instant-speed interaction, the deck's path to victory is purely combat-oriented.
