Deck overview

This deck is a Bant toughness-based combat strategy centered around Arcades, the Strategist. The core engine leverages low-cost creatures with defender as hyper-efficient beaters that draw cards upon entering the battlefield. In the opening turns, the deck establishes a defensive perimeter with high-toughness walls like Wall of Omens, Wall of Blossoms, and Wall of Denial. Once Arcades enters play on Turn 4, these inexpensive blockers transform into aggressive attackers that assign combat damage equal to their toughness. The deck maintains steady momentum through redundant toughness-combat enablers such as High Alert, Assault Formation, and Huatli, the Sun's Heart. Opposing boards are kept in check with asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Fell the Mighty, which eliminate high-power threats while leaving the deck's low-power defenders untouched. Finishing pushes are enabled by unblockability effects from Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and explosive toughness pumps like Tower Defense, closing out the game around Turn 7.
