Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats engine led by Teysa Karlov. Its main strategy revolves around assembling three synergistic permanent types: sacrificial fodder, free or low-cost sacrifice outlets, and death-trigger drain payoffs. Teysa doubles every death trigger, accelerating life drain against opponents while padding your life total through lifelink tokens. The deck generates steady card flow through sacrifice-based draw spells and graveyard recursion engines like Phyrexian Reclamation and Sun Titan. While the deck lacks fast mana, high-power tutors, and immediate two-card infinite combos, it establishes overwhelming board presence through deep functional redundancy. Midgame threats like Elenda, the Dusk Rose, Grave Titan, and Pitiless Plunderer produce massive token swarms that turn opposing board wipes into lethal damage. Opponents face constant pressure from incremental life loss and flexible exile removal such as Anguished Unmaking and Tragic Arrogance. The deck reliably closes games on Turn 8 through repeated combat swings and mass sacrifice drain.
