Deck overview

This deck is a Boros Equipment and historic beatdown strategy piloted by Lightning, Army of One. Lightning's Stagger mechanic turns any combat connection into a devastating damage amplifier: dealing first-strike damage triggers Stagger, causing normal combat damage to deal double damage to that player immediately. The deck leans heavily into legendary creatures, aggressive equipment such as Colossus Hammer, Wrecking Ball Arm, and Hard-Won Jitte, and historic synergies through Cloud, Midgar Mercenary and Elena, Turk Recruit. While the deck generates immense burst damage against single targets, its multiplayer clock is gated by the need to attack opponents one by one over multiple combat steps. Defensive tools such as Clever Concealment and Ultimate Magic: Holy protect the board, but the deck remains vulnerable to heavy disruption, creature edicts, and faster non-combat combo strategies.
