Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and control build designed around Lyra, Tolarian Archangel. The strategy centers on drawing three or more cards each turn to trigger Lyra's end-step ability, steadily amassing a formidable army of 3/3 flying Angel creature tokens. A dense suite of efficient draw spells—such as Brainstorm, Brainsurge, and Thirst for Discovery—ensures consistent token generation on your turn as well as during opposing turns. Coastal Piracy effects like Bident of Thassa, Reconnaissance Mission, and Curiosity Crafter turn attacking fliers into self-sustaining draw engines. Meanwhile, efficient countermagic and instant removal protect your board and disrupt decisive opposing plays. As the game advances, the deck closes the game via overwhelming aerial combat damage supported by anthems like Favorable Winds, large Kraken tokens from Ominous Seas, or life-drain pressure from Psychosis Crawler.
