Snakes Group Hug by FaunoHG

Format: Commander

Commander: Xyris, the Writhing Storm

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Temur wheel-and-token deck helmed by Xyris, the Writhing Storm, built around the classic "make opponents draw, get snakes" engine. The primary plan is to deploy symmetric draw effects like Dictate of Kruphix, Skyscribing, and Folio of Fancies to force extra draws, converting each one into a 1/1 Snake via Xyris, then swing with a rapidly growing army. A secondary Background subtheme suits Xyris up with enchantments like Candlekeep Sage, Master Chef, and Feywild Visitor to add draw, counters, and extra tokens. The deck finishes through combat - either a critical-mass Snake swing, or pump effects like Overwhelming Encounter and Trumpet Blast. It is a value-driven, midrange deck with no infinite combos, relying on incremental card advantage and board presence to close games.
