Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon Stompy and Treasure Burn strategy helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug provides an 8/7 flying, indestructible, and hasty body that turns noncombat damage into equal quantities of Treasure tokens. The deck accelerates into play using Dragon cost reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and Dragonlord's Servant, deploying Smaug on Turn 5. On Turn 6, it targets Smaug with self-damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Self-Destruct, generating 8 to 16 Treasures in a single burst. These artifacts trigger burn engines like Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, and Marionette Apprentice, or provide the massive mana required to cast a lethal Exsanguinate. In the absence of the commander, high-end threats like Utvara Hellkite, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Scourge of Valkas maintain heavy aerial combat pressure and direct damage, closing games reliably around Turn 7.
