Deck overview

Merry and Pippin form an Abzan token/value engine: Merry turns every artifact entering into a lifelinking Soldier, and Pippin manufactures Food and provides a haste overrun. The real finish is a tutor-packed combo shell: Scurry Oak with Rosie Cotton, Basking Broodscale with Rosie/Cathars' Crusade, or Heliod with Spike Feeder. Each loop is converted into a kill by Blasting Station, Blood Artist, Vito, or Mirkwood Bats. The commanders are acceleration, not the core; Heliod, Sun-Crowned functions as the hidden commander because so many tutor chains fetch it. Life gain, tokens, and +1/+1 counters overlap, letting the deck pivot from beatdown to infinite combos.
