Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This deck is a high-tuned Grixis aristocrats combo engine helmed by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The primary game plan leverages dethrone to place +1/+1 counters on creatures, then sacrifice them for value, using Marchesa's return trigger to recur them. The real power lies in assembling infinite combos-Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + a drain effect, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion or Murderous Redcap, or Pitiless Plunderer loops-to drain the table. A dense tutor suite (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Buried Alive, Entomb, Wishclaw Talisman, etc.) combined with reanimation spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead ensures consistent access to combo pieces. The deck also packs a powerful interaction shell with free counterspells, instant-speed removal, and board wipes, overwhelming opponents with both speed and inevitability.
