Deck overview

This mono-green Hydra deck is built almost entirely around Gargos, Vicious Watcher. The commander serves as both a massive cost reducer and a fight-based removal engine: every Hydra spell is four mana cheaper, and whenever a creature you control draws a target, Gargos fights. The deck ramps to six mana, drops Gargos, then deploys huge Hydras and stacks +1/+1 counters with doubling effects. Its primary finish is trample damage from a board of large Hydras; Hydra Omnivore converts one big connect into damage to all opponents, and Hydra Broodmaster provides a token wave. Changelings like Universal Automaton secretly count as Hydras for Gargos, and instant-speed pump/protection spells keep the key creature alive.
