Deck overview

Bast, Panther Goddess leads a dedicated Selesnya Cat tribal deck built around curving out aggressive feline creatures and converting wide boards into tall, lethal combat steps. Bast provides a commanding presence in the command zone as an indestructible 4/4 with trample that substantially buffs an attacking creature on every attack step, provided its controller maintains at least three creatures. The deck supports this game plan with low-cost Cat bodies, equipment synergies anchored by Nazahn and the Hammer of Nazahn, and overrun payoffs like Jazal Goldmane and Sovereign Okinec Ahau. Operating on a high land count of 43 lands, the deck prioritizes hitting every land drop to deploy its threats reliably on curve. While resilient against conventional destruction due to Bast's innate keyword, the deck's reliance on combat damage and natural card flow leaves it vulnerable to exile board wipes, dedicated stax, and heavy creature removal that disables Bast's combat capabilities.
