Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats deck is commanded by Liliana, Heretical Healer // Liliana, Defiant Necromancer. It focuses on sacrificing disposable creatures and tokens to generate continuous card flow, mana, and life drain. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap fodder creatures early, transforming Liliana into a planeswalker to strip opponents' hands, and locking down the board with asymmetric edicts like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder. Mid-to-late turns leverage powerhouse engines such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Warren Soultrader, and Ayara, First of Locthwain alongside drain staples like Blood Artist and Bastion of Remembrance. The deck finishes the game through incremental aristocrat triggers, reanimated threats like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and mass recursion via Rise of the Dark Realms. While highly resilient against standard creature removal, the list remains vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and dedicated graveyard hate.
