Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black midrange control strategy led by Gisa, Glorious Resurrector. Its primary plan uses efficient spot removal to control opposing boards while Gisa steals destroyed creatures, returning them on upkeep with decayed to pressure life totals. The 99 incorporates a dedicated Vampire tribal package featuring lords like Bloodline Keeper and Captivating Vampire, alongside mana sinks like Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. It also packs late-game finishers including Sheoldred, Whispering One, Rise of the Dark Realms, and a two-card infinite life-drain combo with Defiant Bloodlord and Exquisite Blood. Because the deck runs 40 basic Swamps without cheap mana rocks, it operates on a fair, land-per-turn tempo. While its creature interaction and graveyard suppression are exceptionally strong, it remains vulnerable to noncreature permanents, countermagic, and targeted removal aimed at Gisa before her upkeep triggers.
