Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Rakdos spellslinger and storm deck helmed by Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. The strategy revolves around assembling low-cost pingers such as Kessig Flamebreather, Coruscation Mage, and Shadow of the Goblin alongside Ob Nixilis. Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, the pinger deals exactly 1 damage to each opponent, triggering Ob Nixilis to gain a +1/+1 counter and impulse draw the top card of your library. This creates a self-fuelling card advantage loop where cheap spells, rituals, and mana engines like Birgi, God of Storytelling and Runaway Steam-Kin chain together to dig through dozens of cards in a single explosive turn. The deck finishes games by either growing Ob Nixilis into a lethal flying and trample threat, wiping the table simultaneously with a massive Chandra's Ignition, or accumulating overwhelming burn damage and storm counts via Grapeshot. A dedicated suite of stack redirection and protection spells defends the engine during the winning turn.
