Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity spellslinger burn list built around resolving multiple copies of Dragon's Approach. Commanded by Ral, Monsoon Mage, the deck relies on 2-CMC cost-reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance, Stormcatch Mentor, and Ruby Medallion alongside mana generators like Birgi, God of Storytelling and Storm-Kiln Artist to chain burn spells efficiently. The primary win condition casts five copies of Dragon's Approach to trigger its built-in search ability, putting Niv-Mizzet, Visionary directly onto the battlefield. Because Niv-Mizzet draws cards equal to noncombat damage dealt to opponents, each subsequent Approach deals 3 damage to three players and draws 9 cards. This massive card draw uncovers rituals and further Approaches, enabling the deck to burn out all three opponents in a single explosive turn. Alternatively, tutoring Thrumming Stone allows ripple triggers to cast nearly the entire suite of 30 Approaches in one continuous burst.
