Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Gruul stompy build helmed by Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient. The central strategy revolves around accelerating mana in the first three turns through efficient mana dorks, land-fetching sorceries, and talismans to cast Klauth on Turn 4. Thanks to flying and haste, Klauth attacks immediately, converting attacking power into vast amounts of floating mana that persists through all phases of the turn. This mana fuels overwhelming board development: casting massive hydras, Ghalta the Unstoppable, damage doublers like Gratuitous Violence, and burst draw spells like Rishkar's Expertise. The deck closes the game rapidly on Turn 6 by overwhelming opponents with trampling, high-power threats and extra combat steps from Moraug, Fury of Akoum. While vulnerable to well-timed spot removal before attacks, a suite of efficient green protection spells helps ensure Klauth connects.
