Deck overview

This is a mono-black Rat typal deck built to bury opponents under an overwhelming number of Rat Colonys. Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm is the central engine: while attacking or blocking he turns every Rat into a haymaker, and his end-step trigger mills four and returns up to two Rats to hand, making the colony count genuinely self-renewing. The 18 Rat Colony copies are the backbone, supported by Thrumming Stone, which can ripple one cast into most of the deck's rats, and by token multipliers like Marrow-Gnawer and Lord Skitter, Sewer King. The primary kill is combat damage via an enormous Rat swarm, with drain backups in Ayara, First of Locthwain and Valley Rotcaller. It is a linear, redundant, graveyard-fueled aggro deck that pivots into mass reanimation through Bloodline Bidding, Whip of Erebos, and Rise of the Dark Realms.
