Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and midrange strategy commanded by Hylda of the Icy Crown. Its game plan revolves around turning tapping effects into high-value payoffs. Rather than using tap spells merely for tempo, every tapped opposing creature triggers Hylda to create 4/4 Elemental tokens, buff the entire team with +1/+1 counters, or scry and draw cards. The deck controls the battlefield by handing out stun counters, taxing attacks via Propaganda and Authority of the Consuls, and tapping down key blockers. It finishes games by casting one-sided board-clearing effects like Sunblast Angel or mass freeze spells like Sleep and Blustersquall, allowing an overwhelming army of Elementals and massive threats like Rhoda, Geist Avenger to attack unhindered. While vulnerable to heavy noncreature strategies and sweeping board wipes, the deck establishes formidable board control against creature-centric pods.
