Deck overview

This Jeskai deck operates as a spellslinger and legendary creature hybrid themed heavily around Gandalf and Lord of the Rings legends. Led by Gandalf, Party Guest, the deck's primary engine utilizes legendary Wizards to cheat the mana costs of impactful instants and sorceries at the beginning of combat. Supported by efficient 2-mana ramp and cantrip velocity, the deck transitions from early board development into wide token generation via Increasing Devotion, Forth Eorlingas!, and Éowyn, Shieldmaiden. Lethal combat pressure is achieved when wide boards are paired with Aragorn, King of Gondor, making the team completely unblockable while holding the Monarch, or Gandalf, White Rider to stack team-wide power buffs. While the deck possesses a rich reactive suite with premium spot removal and uncounterable sweepers, it lacks proactive stax and remains reliant on surviving multi-turn combat rotations to eliminate all three opponents.
