Deck overview

This Abzan Lands deck leverages Thalia and The Gitrog Monster to generate massive mana and card advantage while slowing opponents down. The commander's static ability forces opposing creatures and nonbasic lands to enter the battlefield tapped, buying critical time. The deck rapidly ramps by playing additional lands each turn and recycling fetchlands and utility lands from the graveyard through cards like Life from the Loam, The Necrobloom, and Conduit of Worlds. As the mana base expands, Landfall engines including Field of the Dead, Scute Swarm, and Titania, Protector of Argoth flood the board with tokens. The deck locks out opposing strategies through tutorable utility lands like Strip Mine and Bojuka Bog, while defending its board with elite protection spells such as Clever Concealment and Heroic Intervention.
