Deck overview

This Dimir Zombie tribal deck harnesses The Scarab God to grind out opponents through recursive creature swarms, continuous graveyard theft, and aristocrat drain. The strategy curves out with low-cost Zombies and token generators like Diregraf Colossus, Headless Rider, and Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, establishing a persistent board presence. Once The Scarab God enters the battlefield on Turn 5, it transforms the Zombie horde into an escalating upkeep life-loss engine while threatening instant-speed reanimation of the best threats in any graveyard. Asymmetric sacrifice effects such as Dictate of Erebos and Butcher of Malakir keep opposing boards clear, converting expendable tokens into table-wide board control. The deck closes games via overwhelming evasive combat bolstered by Geralf, Visionary Stitcher, mass drain from Vengeful Dead, or a sudden infinite venture loop with Rooftop Storm and Acererak the Archlich. High resilience from recursive bodies and the commander's built-in death recovery ensure rapid rebuilding after board wipes.
