Commander: Gwenom, Remorseless

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Gwenom, Remorseless drives a mono-black life engine: the deck converts life total into cards, mana, and damage, then recycles that life back into an engine loop. Gwenom is the access point - each attack lets you play from the top of your library for life payments, and her lifelink body refills the very resource she spends. The primary win is an infinite life-drain loop pairing an "opponent loses life you gain life" trigger (Exquisite Blood, Bloodthirsty Conqueror) with a "you gain life opponent loses life" trigger (Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, Enduring Tenacity); any incidental life event (Demon's Horn, Bontu's Monument, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse's draw trigger, extort from Crypt Ghast) starts the chain. Aetherflux Reservoir, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Exsanguinate provide alternate one-shot finishes. With K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth and Bolas's Citadel leaning even harder on life-as-a-resource, this is a velocity-first drain machine that wins by attrition or by abrupt loop.
