Deck overview

This is a general mono-blue Octavia, Living Thesis spellslinger deck. Its plan is to cast cheap instants and sorceries, place eight of them in the graveyard, and cast the discounted commander for only {U}{U}. Magecraft then turns small creatures into 8/8s while token makers such as Talrand, Sky Summoner, Murmuring Mystic, and Docent of Perfection build the board. The strongest supported attack uses three 8/8 creatures and Open into Wonder to make them unblockable and draw cards. That attack deals 24 to each opponent, followed by another attack for the finish. The deck has useful counters, bounce, removal, and card selection, but it lacks a commander tutor, compact combo, recurring denial, and dependable protection. Its primary weakness is that Octavia, Living Thesis and a creature board must remain available across several setup turns. The list is capable of strong midgame snowballing, but its ordinary win is slower and more exposed than competitive combo or control decks.
