Commander: The Kingpin of Crime

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Orzhov extort-and-life-gain deck built around toughness-based combat, helmed by The Kingpin of Crime. The commander's attack ability lets high-toughness creatures assign combat damage equal to their toughness, turning walls like Indomitable Ancients and Giant Ox into real threats. The deck layers three overlapping engines: extort drains (Blind Obedience, Crypt Ghast, Pontiff of Blight, Sorin of House Markov), life-gain payoffs (Rhox Faithmender, Doctor Strange, Surgeon, South Wind Avatar), and toughness-matters combat (Baldin, Century Herdmaster, Catapult Fodder, Captain America's Shield). It wins primarily through incremental drain plus a large toughness-based swing, with Catapult Captain offering a sacrifice-based life-loss finisher. The deck is a midrange value pile that grinds opponents down rather than racing.
