Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It leverages its commander's Eminence ability from the command zone to discount all Sphinx spells by {1}, pairing this with efficient artifact mana and dedicated cost reducers such as Heartless Summoning and Herald's Horn. The deck accelerates into premier card-advantage engines like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Tivit, Seller of Secrets by Turn 4. From there, it chains large, evasive flying creatures that generate overwhelming card flow and life-total pressure, highlighted by Magister Sphinx and Reflections of Littjara. Defensive interaction is anchored by flexible instant-speed removal like Void Rend, Swords to Plowshares, and countermagic including Dovin's Veto. While the deck lacks instant-speed infinite combos, its massive flying bodies, recursive artifact synergy via Sharuum the Hegemon, and asymmetric board wipes like Kindred Judgment allow it to dominate the mid-to-late game through aerial combat superiority.
