Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, leveraging dense lifegain synergies to fuel explosive card draw and drain opponents. The primary strategy focuses on assembling an infinite drain loop using Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror alongside drain payoffs like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. Incremental lifegain from soul sisters like Soul Warden and Daxos, Blessed by the Sun keeps life totals high while converting directly into cards through the commander. White's premier removal suite—including Swords to Plowshares and Fracture—keeps opposing threats in check, while proactive cards like Grand Abolisher and Authority of the Consuls protect execution windows. The deck presents a consistent, lethal mid-game clock on Turn 5 that ends the game in a single turn once assembled.
