Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Dimir mill and graveyard storm deck commanded by Emet-Selch, Unsundered. The primary objective is to stock the graveyard with fourteen or more cards using self-mill permanents, looters, and wheel effects. On the upkeep of Turn 5, Emet-Selch transforms into Hades, Sorcerer of Eld, granting a static Yawgmoth's Will effect for the turn. With Hades active, the deck casts fast mana rituals from the graveyard, such as Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, and Songs of the Damned, generating large mana surpluses. It chains these resources into massive mill spells like Brain Freeze, kicked Maddening Cacophony, or wheels, completely milling out all opponents in a single turn or winning via Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. A dense suite of counterspells and anti-search hate pieces protects the combo window.
