Deck overview

This Golgari deck is helmed by Chatterfang, Squirrel General, functioning as an aggressive token-multiplier and aristocrats combo engine. Chatterfang turns any token creation—including Food, Clues, and Treasures—into an equivalent army of 1/1 green Squirrel tokens. The deck leverages this wide board presence for versatile board control, sacrificing Squirrels to shrink or eliminate opposing threats at instant speed. Card draw engines like Skullclamp and Toski, Bearer of Secrets keep resources flowing, while tutors quickly assemble decisive win conditions. The primary win route is an infinite loop between Chatterfang and Pitiless Plunderer, which produces infinite colored mana, infinite death triggers, and infinite drain through payoffs like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mirkwood Bats. Alternatively, the deck can overrun the table via combat using Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes.
