Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal and graveyard engine helmed by Varina, Lich Queen. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost Zombies in the early turns, casting Varina on Turn 4, and attacking to filter through the library while stocking the graveyard with reanimation targets and fuel for token generation. Mid-game turns leverage potent discard payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir and Bone Miser, alongside token multipliers such as Necroduality and God-Eternal Oketra. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through wide evasive combat backed by Akroma's Will, Geralf, Visionary Stitcher, or Hordewing Skaab, or via massive life drain with Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Wayward Servant. Free and efficient interaction like Fierce Guardianship, Deadly Rollick, and Mana Drain protects key engine pieces, while mass reanimation spells like Bloodline Bidding ensure swift recovery from sweepers.
