Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Lifegain and Group Slug attrition deck commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary strategy focuses on establishing early mana acceleration, deploying Liesa on Turn 4, and compounding life-drain triggers to heavily tax opponent actions. Liesa's unique commander tax ability bypasses traditional mana penalties by substituting life payments, allowing the deck to maintain steady commander presence through removal. Mid-game turns stack continuous attrition pieces such as Painful Quandary, Polluted Bonds, and Kambal, Consul of Allocation, turning every spell cast and land drop into a punishing drain. Meanwhile, large lifelink creatures like Baneslayer Angel and Lyra Dawnbringer keep your life total elevated, creating a massive life disparity. The game concludes around Turn 8 through accumulated aerial combat damage and burst life-drain sorceries like Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless.
