Deck overview

This Grixis midrange deck harnesses Sauron, the Dark Lord to turn opposing spellcasts into an ever-growing Orc Army while converting combat damage into explosive four-card wheel refills. Supported by secondary amass enablers like Saruman, the White Hand and Mauhúr, Uruk-hai Captain, the deck establishes a commanding board presence in the mid-game. Sauron's innate Ward protection severely restricts single-target removal from opponents lacking legendary fodder. While the deck lacks fast mana or instant two-card combos, it excels at attrition, leveraging combat damage triggers to dig for board-wide buffs like Assault on Osgiliath or direct reach via Stone-Giant of High Pass. By grinding down life totals across consecutive combat steps, the deck converts steady card velocity and resilient token pressure into a decisive late-game victory.
