Deck overview

This deck is a quintessential Rakdos Group Slug strategy built to turn everyday game actions into agonizing life loss for the entire table. Commanded by Mogis, God of Slaughter, the deck creates an early baseline of unavoidable attrition through indestructible passive damage and edicts. It quickly layers on punishing permanents such as Zo-Zu the Punisher, Manabarbs, Spellshock, and Painful Quandary to penalize opponents for tapping lands, casting spells, and drawing extra cards. Rather than relying on infinite combos or heavy combat steps, the deck accelerates into game-ending damage multipliers including Havoc Festival, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and Heartless Hidetsugu to halve life totals and double outgoing damage. While it possesses minimal stack interaction and relies on natural draws due to a lack of tutors, its deep functional redundancy ensures persistent, crushing pressure that reliably closes out games around Turn 7.
