Deck overview

This Rakdos deck turns self-inflicted and symmetric noncombat damage into overwhelming Treasure production and lethal burn. Commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable, an indestructible 8/7 dragon with haste, the strategy accelerates through early Treasure engines and rituals to reach 7-8 mana by Turn 5. Once Smaug enters, mass noncombat damage spells like Blasphemous Act or Fire Covenant deal massive damage to Smaug without destroying it, yielding double-digit Treasure tokens in a single burst. These resources immediately fund game-ending finishers like Crackle with Power or trigger lethal drain via Mirkwood Bats and Ingenious Artillerist. Alternatively, the deck can assemble an infinite direct-damage loop using Blazing Sunsteel on Smaug or Brash Taunter. With dense redirection protection and efficient interaction, the deck transitions seamlessly from midrange control to an explosive single-turn table kill.
