Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around the partner pairing of Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. The primary strategy focuses on connecting in combat with Malcolm on Turn 4. Kediss spreads Malcolm's combat damage to each other opponent as noncombat damage, causing Malcolm's ability to trigger three times and generate three Treasure tokens each combat step. The resulting mana acceleration allows the deck to deploy formidable threats well ahead of curve, including Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Etali, Primal Storm, and Professor Hulk, while holding up mana for reactive counterspells like Negate and Spell Pierce. Combat enhancements such as Blood Mist and Hero's Blade dramatically increase the table-wide damage clock, while Curiosity and Tandem Lookout turn damage triggers into massive card draw. The deck finishes games by overwhelming the table with combat damage across Turns 6 and 7 or by executing the infinite draw-and-ping loop between Niv-Mizzet and Curiosity.
