Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer - Mono Black Voltron (duplicated from NeverEndingCycle) by Taledu

Format: Commander

Commander: Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a focused mono-black Equipment Voltron deck helmed by Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer. The primary game plan is to deploy Whiplash as early as possible, suit him up with a dense suite of Equipment, and attack to drain each opponent for the number of Equipment attached. The deck leverages fast mana (Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, Chrome Mox) and premium tutors to assemble a critical mass of Equipment quickly. Secondary win conditions include Vorpal Sword's "lose the game" trigger, Hatred for a one-shot commander-damage kill, and Genji Glove for extra combat phases that accelerate the drain. The deck is heavily artifact-centric, with over 60% of its nonland cards being artifacts, making it explosive but vulnerable to mass artifact hate.
